Pub N' Pedal 6 update

It's hard planning a pub crawl in the midst of RAGBRAI excitement, but we seem to be doing it nicely. I have made the decision to mark this 6th anniversary with t-shirts...

As you can see there are still plenty of spaces for sponsors so t-shirts are not in production yet. Once the final design has been finished I will be taking pre-orders for those of you who would like to get one. That way you'll be guaranteed a shirt in your size.

I do not charge anything for this race. However, there is a keg at the final bar and cups to drink from said keg are $5. (years past this has been about an hour of booze after the race) If you decide you would like a t-shirt, cost of your keg cup would be included. Shirt and cup cost $20.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BUY A SHIRT OR A CUP FOR THE KEG AT THE FINAL BAR!!! This post is just saying that if you want one they're available.

Also, I have some very talented friends who have been charged with the design of the poster for this year. Here are two of the designs I've received.....

There should be a third design coming shortly as well. How is a boy supposed to choose?

Looking for something to do Friday?

Around the corner...

You would think a group with their first pending event of the new year would update this thing a little more often. I finally have some posters for this weekends Home Opener at the Buzzard Beach. Funny story, I was at home bored and decided to draw my own poster for Saturday:

Let's just say it was one of my more proud drunken doodling pieces. Then I start thinking that no respectable establishment is going to let me post up a picture of Corky vomitting bike parts. Thank tiny Elvis that C. Burt came through with another fine example of graphic design for us:

Also, we are slated for our return to Lincoln, NE on February 4, 2012. Apparently we didn't trash (literally not figuratively) the bar enough last time we showed up so they think its a good idea for us to come back. Duffy's, we're excited for another year of fishbowl inspired racing and poor decision making.

Finally, on a side note... I had the opportunity to go and visit with the GreenSprints Team this weekend in Omaha, NE for their "GreenSprints at the Side Door Lounge #2" event. I have to say that Omaha is a classy town and the people at GreenSprints put on one helluva show. Thank you for putting up with our Kansas City level of intoxication and not running us out of town with pitchforks and torches. Their next event is scheduled in Omaha the same day we are in Lincoln. Looks like we're going to have an ol timey fisticuffs fight between the groups for spectators on Feb 4th.. Ah well, we love those guys regardless. I am trying to lure them down to KC this weekend with the promise of loose booze and free women.

Good times at Buzzard Beach

A big thanks goes out to everyone that showed up to watch and race for KC Sprints at Buzzard Beach Round II.

Fun was had. Beers were swilled. And surprisingly no one puked. (Caitlin was there but she didn't race... maybe next time)

Just a reminder... Friday night Buzzard Beach... Time to Sprint!

I started putting together the prizes for the Men's and Women's 1st, 2nd, & 3rd places of the tournament tonight.
A little something for the best Grudge Match of the night
And we are considering a SWEET grand prize for the best overall sprint time of the night.
We've got some really good stuff.
You'll be missing out if you aren't there.

Tournament sign up and Grudge Matches start at 8 PM.
The tournament starts at 9 PM.
Tournament is $5
Grudge Matches are $2 per racer.

So go do Critical Mass at 630 then come on over to Buzzard Beach all warmed up and ready to race.
Or just to have a beer, cheer on your friends & heckle your enemies.
What ever you decide its gonna be a good night and you should be there.

KANSAS CITY RACES!!!!

The time has come to throw our first official home town event of the season!
Come race your face off at Buzzard Beach on January 28th.
Grudge match races start at 8pm and tournament races begin at 9pm.
This should give you Critical Mass riders plenty of time to man up and beer up before a night of heckling. Can't wait to see you all there....

Buzzard Beach is in the bag and so was I............

Another fantastic race is now fading into a blurry memory. Course when the memory was made it was already blurry to begin with. Buzzard Beach sprints came and kicked my ass as expected. Beautiful weather and a great crowd. We had everything from a Bride on Bride's Maid Race to Corky throwing up what looks a lot like peanut brittle. Hell, even some folks from Lincoln made the trip. Congratulations to Andrew Lyles for his third consecutive win and third high quality softball trophy conversion. You all better get your games faces on for Lawrence cause this guys gonna be gunnin for that PBR Cruiser.

Thank you as well to Sam, Dennis and the rest of the Buzzard Beach staff. You guys kick ass and we can't wait to come back.

We're headin to the Beach!!

KC Sprints is heading to the one and only BUZZARD BEACH!!! Yes, you read that right. Come on out April 10th for some indoor sprinting action at KC's Only Five Star Dive.... You'll want the next day off cause this one  is gonna hurt your liver and soul.
